Did I make my sourdough starter incorrectly?

since youve only just started it, its liekly to be other bacterium in there, they are supposed to die off after a few days once yout yeast take over, id just check it and make sure you dont get any dark spots on it that would be likely contamination. id say give a bit to develope and let the good yeasties take hold before chucking it
