What qualities would you want in an engineering intern if you are asked to hire one?

Real world experience is worth more than gold or jewels. Being able to solve a problem not just theoretically but in practice is what engineers are for- look for someone who is a B student, not an A, student, and is a B student because they spent their time making things or pursuing a worthwhile and related hobby. Those are the kids that will perform.
