Do things ever taste weird when you're on your period?

Today and yesterday chocolate has been tasting weird to me, almost like there's something fermented or alcoholic in it. (If you've ever had a rum ball it's a little like that.) My period is going to come in the next couple of days probably. I know being pregnant can make things taste different, but I have an IUD so there's a really, really low chance of me being pregnant (even lower than with the Pill). What really freaks me out is this has never happened before!! Does this happen to anyone else?
